Black pellets
Sustainable, high-energy coal substitute.

Key features
Black pellets are a type of bioenergy product generated from biomass materials. They are robust, energy-dense and, unlike coal, they're produced from renewable resources and offer a lower carbon alternative.
Our black pellets meet the grade when it comes to certification - quality guaranteed.
We produce 10,000+ tonnes of biochar every year meaning you can count on us for scale.
We have sites in SE Asia, catering for international markets.

What are
black pellets?
Black pellets are a high-energy, renewable biofuel made from sustainably sourced biomass through a process called torrefaction - a form of thermal treatment that transforms organic material into a dense, carbon-rich solid. When raw biomass (e.g. agricultural residues, forestry by-products) is torrefied, moisture and volatile compounds are driven off, leaving behind robust, energy-dense pellets.
Unlike traditional fossil fuels, black pellets are produced from renewable resources and offer a lower-carbon alternative to coal - making them well-suited as a sustainable fuel for industrial heating and power generation. They are engineered to be durable, water-resistant and easy to handle, meaning they can be stored and transported with minimal fuss while delivering consistent performance.

Key characteristics
High calorific value - Providing a substantial energy output comparable to coal.
Low moisture content and high bulk density - Maximizing fuel efficiency and combustion quality.
Made from waste biomass - Turning low-value residues into a valuable and carbon-neutral energy source.
Built to be a straightforward drop-in alternative for existing coal infrastructure, black pellets help industries reduce emissions and support the transition to cleaner energy without costly equipment changes.

Advantages of switching from coal
Black pellets have similar properties to coal, making it a straightforward transition without the need for expensive investment.
As a biogenic fuel, no new CO2 emissions are generated by using black pellets, reducing to zero the carbon impact of equivalent coal quantities.
Compared to other biomass fuels, black pellets are highly water resistant, meaning handling and storage is straightforward.
